BULK CARGO TRANSPORT

Bulk cargo transport is a type of transport that includes disassembled or large volumes of cargo, generally does not require packaging and covers cargo in liquid form or in the shape of the area where it is located. This category usually includes basic products. Products such as fertiliser, cereals, animal feed, rubber, liquefied gas, various beverages and petroleum are included in the bulk cargo class. In addition, building materials such as pulleys, coils, bulk wood products and unprocessed mineral products are also included in this transport category.

Bulk Cargo Ship Chartering

Among the cargoes we generally concentrate on; iron and steel cargoes, steel or PVC pipes, Terephthalic Acid (PTA), Polypropylene (PP), Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC), fertiliser, coal, MDF, chrome, copper concentrate, cement, and grain cargoes. Safe transport of cargoes from Far East ports to our country or Black Sea – Mediterranean ports can be counted among our areas of expertise. We also offer full or partial cargoes suitable for ships that are open in the Black Sea and Mediterranean and have to return to the Far East.

What are the Advantages of Bulk Cargo Transport?

Bulk cargo transport is an essential element of maritime transport and an important part of international logistics. It stands out as an economical option. High tonnage products can be transported without additional packaging costs. There are no additional packaging costs for carriers; materials can be transported directly in their existing form. It offers a practical and economical transport solution such as bulk containers, drums and wooden hoops.

Feeder Service: Small Ship, Big Transport

Feeder service is a transport method that allows large tonnage cargo ships to transfer cargo to small tonnage ships without docking at the port. Large ships, especially those engaged in long-distance trade, may have difficulty in docking at some ports. Natural harbours generally do not offer sufficient depth for large tonnage ships. In addition, berthing of large ships in ports with high trade volume may cause loss of time. For this reason, small ships perform cargo loading/unloading operations by docking with the large ship.

Likewise, large cargo ships calling at more than one port also prefer feeder transport system. For example, if a large tonnage ship needs to visit three different ports, the feeder system allows it to deliver cargo to smaller ships without calling directly. The feeder system is also used as a system that connects ports within a country. After large cargo ships unload cargo at the port of a country, small ships can deliver the relevant cargo to other points of the country.

Especially the rapid distribution of imported products within the country by sea can be easily realised thanks to the feeder system. Feeder ships are generally small tonnage cargo ships and their container capacities can vary between 300 and 1000. These ships can easily enter shallow and narrow ports and carry the containers they collect from these ports to larger ports or areas where large cargo ships are located. Feeder vessels play an important role in the development of the hinterland of an existing port. They not only enhance trade between nearby countries, but also enable the easy transport of many cargoes by sea in countries with more than one port.

LINER SERVICES Planned and Continuous Transport in Maritime Transport

Liner service is a service that is organised according to a specific tariff and carries cargo continuously. Offering an ideal option to meet the constant demand for transport, liner service is an important solution for businesses with regular and continuous transport requirements. This service allows the transport of various materials such as containers as well as valuable goods and plays a critical role in international trade.

Liner service is an area where different types of ships serve and it is predetermined which ship will arrive at the port and when, this information is known by the cargo owner company. In this service, where the ship does not have to be fully loaded, the focus is on providing continuous service.

Liner Logistics services are used to transport the desired cargo in a planned manner. Liner service includes various types of transport. These include ro-ro transport, tanker transport, combined transport, bulk cargo transport and container transport. Tanker transport is an area where dangerous goods such as oil and gas are transported. Ro-ro transport involves the transport of loaded vehicles to the port by large ships. In container transport, different types of containers are delivered to the desired destination.

Combined transport is used for dry cargoes or oil transport, while bulk transport includes products such as salt, cement, etc. Ship transport has an impact on national economies and affects international trade. Thanks to this transport, which provides the transportation of tonnes of cargo worldwide, it is possible to access all kinds of materials.  Thanks to this service, a wide range of products can be transported and trade between countries can be carried out quickly. Liner services have facilitated access to all kinds of materials by offering transport to all parts of the world.

CHARTERING

Chartering is a widely used term in maritime logistics and simply refers to ship chartering. Companies that do not own ships receive services by chartering ships from ship owners to transport their cargo. These transport agreements are preferred for the transport of many goods. Chartering agreements must comply with international law and each country’s commercial code contains provisions on ship chartering.

There are two basic types of chartering:

Voyage charter, gives the right to use the ship on a certain voyage and the owner delivers the goods to the ship. Time charter, on the other hand, is generally preferred by import and export companies, the charterer holds the management of the ship for a certain period of time.

Bareboat charter, means that the vessel is chartered empty, the crew and captain belong to the charterer and all expenses are borne by the charterer.,

TRANSIT TRANSPORTS TO TURKEY

FCL CONTAINER
LCL (PARTIAL) CONTAINER

FCL (Full Container Load)

The “FCL” system is called “Full Container Load” and in this system, the entire load in a transport container belongs to a single cargo owner. Since loading the goods at one time will reduce the warehousing costs, it is preferred as an economically advantageous transfer method by companies that deliver to ports in large masses.

LCL (Less Container Load)

Unlike FCL, “LCL” (partial containerisation), a term that refers to partial space utilisation, accommodates commodities belonging to more than one cargo owner in a single container. This method of transfer is particularly favoured by cargo owners due to its economy depending on the amount of cargo. The use of shared containers provides an advantage by dividing the cost of transport between cargo owners.  LCL (partial) transfer is planned in the most convenient way for our business partners and realised with ideal timing.

In import and export, we organise fast, reliable and economical transfer opportunities in an advantageous way for you and manage the operational process effectively. While demonstrating our quality in the field of international maritime transport, we offer special solutions to the special transport needs of our customers and provide the opportunity to cooperate in different loading models.

TYPES OF CARGO IN MARITIME TRANSPORT

Maritime transport is a wide area covering various types of cargo. There are various types such as liquid cargoes, high volume transport, dry cargoes and project transport. Transit transport is an important stage of the logistics process and is a factor that determines the speed and efficiency of the transport process. Correctly determining the types of cargo used in maritime transport can greatly affect the overall performance of the sector. Different transport needs such as liquid cargoes, projects, industrial raw materials, dry cargoes, liquid and gas cargoes, mineral raw materials reflect the diversity and specialisation in the sector.

BENEFITS OF MARITIME TRANSPORT

The advantages offered by maritime transport attract many companies. This method facilitates the logistics processes of trade by transporting large volumes of cargo around the world in one go. This helps businesses to reduce costs and increase profit margins. The advantages of maritime transport in the international arena become even more obvious; the reduction of physical barriers and low-cost transport options make maritime transport more attractive than other methods.

The main advantages offered by maritime transport are as follows:

  • Greater capacity and freight transport potential,
  • Economic logistics solution
  • Global access and facilitation of international trade
